iOS 18: A guide to locking and hiding iPhone apps

In this guide, we'll walk you through the simple steps to lock and hide apps on your iOS 18 device.


Steps:

  • Access Settings: Open the "Settings" app on your iPhone.
  • Locate Privacy & Security: Scroll down and tap on "Privacy & Security."
  • Select App Lock: Within the Privacy & Security menu, you'll find the "App Lock" option. Tap on it.
  • Enable App Lock: Turn on the "App Lock" toggle to activate this feature.
  • Choose Apps to Lock: You'll be presented with a list of installed apps. Select the apps you want to lock.
  • Set a Password: You'll be prompted to set a strong password or use Face ID or Touch ID for authentication.
  • To unlock and unhide apps in iOS 18, follow these steps:

  • Access Settings: Open the "Settings" app on your iPhone.
  • Locate Privacy & Security: Scroll down and tap on "Privacy & Security."
  • Select App Lock: Within the Privacy & Security menu, you'll find the "App Lock" option. Tap on it.

    • For added security, consider using a complex password or enabling biometric authentication .
    • To hide locked apps from the home screen, simply swipe left to access the App Library and remove them from your folders.
