Samsung 's upcoming foldable smartphones, the Galaxy Z Fold 6 and Galaxy Z Flip 6, have had their complete specifications revealed in a major leak just days before their official unveiling. The leak, shared by tipster Evan Blass (@evleaks), reveals detailed about the design, features, and upgrades of both smartphones.
One of the most upgrade is that both smartphones will feature an IP48 rating for dust and water resistance, a first for foldables. This marks a substantial improvement over the previous IPX8 rating.
The Galaxy Z Fold 6 will sport a 7.6-inch main display and a 6.3-inch cover screen, both featuring Dynamic AMOLED 2X technology with 120Hz refresh rates. Notably, the main display's peak brightness has been boosted to 2,600 nits, matching that of the Galaxy S24 Ultra.
According to the leaked marketing materials shared by Blass, the Galaxy Z Flip 6 will retain its predecessor's screen sizes but will see a significant battery upgrade. The smartphone will now pack a 4,000mAh battery, up from the Z Flip 5's 3,700mAh, potentially addressing one of the main criticisms of previous models.
Both smartphones will be powered by the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 processor and come with 12GB of RAM. The Z Flip 6 will feature a new 50MP main camera, a substantial upgrade from the 12MP sensor in its predecessor.
The leak also reveals that both phones will incorporate Samsung's Galaxy AI features, including Circle to Search and Interpreter Mode. The Z Flip 6 will have an optimised Chat Assist feature for its cover screen, facilitating easier message replies.
Despite the larger battery, the Z Flip 6 is reported to be slightly thinner than its predecessor, measuring 14.9mm when folded. The Z Fold 6, meanwhile, weighs 239g, 14g lighter than the Z Fold 5.
Samsung will be officially announcing its new batch of foldables and more at its Galaxy Unpacked event on July 10 in Paris.
