Beauties win pageant with glamour and quick wit

MUMBAI: The grand finale of the Femina Miss India 2024 co-powered by Tops & Rajnigandha Pearls was held in Mumbai on Wednesday night. This year's event marked Femina Miss India's 60th anniversary, and three new crowns were unveiled on stage.

Nikita Porwal from Madhya Pradesh was crowned Femina Miss India World 2024 and will go on to represent India at the Miss World contest. Rekha Pandey from Dadra and Nagar Haveli (Union Territory) was crowned Femina Miss India 2024 - 1st Runner-up, and Aayushi Dholakia from Gujarat took the title of Femina Miss India 2024 - 2nd Runner-up.

The event kicked off with a fashion sequence introducing the 30 state winners. A Band of Boys performed. There was a second round of fashion showcase. Later, Sahil Shah took to the stage for a comedy act.

As the 30 state winners took their place on stage, Tadu Lunia-Femina Miss India Arunachal Pradesh 2024- was announced as the Times Miss Beauty with a Purpose Award winner, and Angelia Marwein-Femina Miss India Meghalaya 2024-was declared the winner of the Times Miss Multimedia Award.

The Miss India Organization also launched a special music anthem titled 'Rise of Queen', paying tribute to the pageant's legacy.

The Q&A round with the Top 15 was judged by a panel including designer Nikita Mhaisalkar, former beauty queen Sangeeta Bijlani, veteran director Anees Bazmee, actor and former beauty queen Neha Dhupia, choreographer Bosco Martis and award-winning director Madhur Bhandarkar.

The evening was hosted by Sachiin Kumbhaar, Anusha Dandekar and Nehal Chudasama.

Among the performers were Sangeeta Bijlani, Raghav Juyal and Gayatri Bhardwaj.

The finale culminated in the coronation ceremony in which the outgoing queens crowned the new winners.

Former Femina Miss India and actor Neha Dhupia also sashed the five zonal winners. The winners are Femina Miss India Northeast 2024 - Angelia Marwein, Femina Miss India North 2024 - Sifti Singh Sarang, Femina Miss India South 2024 - Malina, Femina Miss India East 2024 - Riya Nandini, and Femina Miss India West 2024 - Arshia Rashid.

In attendance were former Femina Miss India winners and stars such as Ruhii Siingh, Sini Shetty and Sushrii Shreya, to name a few.

Miss India Organization and Ketto, a crowdsourcing platform, collaborated to raise Rs 45,56,263 to uplift tribal women as part of the Beauty With a Purpose initiative. Times Miss Beauty With a Purpose title winner Tadu Lunia -who raised approximately Rs 16 lakh-was the highest individual contributor.
