Nagpur: The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has forecast very heavy rainfall across Nagpur and several other districts on Tuesday, June 24. This downpour is expected to break the current dry spell in the region, bringing much-needed relief.
Starting June 24, rainfall is predicted to intensify and spread significantly. Vidarbha is likely to experience fairly widespread showers from June 24 to 27. The Regional Meteorological Centre (RMC) has issued alerts for heavy rainfall, accompanied by thunderstorms, lightning, and strong winds at isolated locations, especially between June 24 and 26. These weather conditions could lead to temporary disruptions in low-lying areas and affect transportation.
Farmers have been urged to maintain proper field drainage and secure lightweight equipment. Urban authorities have been advised to brace for potential waterlogging in flood-prone zones.
This rainfall is driven by an active southwest monsoon sweeping through central India. Residents have been asked to monitor IMD updates and adhere to safety protocols during severe weather conditions.
