MEERUT: Ten people from a family have died after a three-storey building collapsed at Zakir Colony , Meerut, following continuous, heavy rains on Saturday evening.
Rescue teams responded quickly, pulling 15 people from the debris, five of whom survived. The condition of one of them is critical. Authorities believe the heavy rains weakened the structure of the building, leading to the collapse.
The deceased belonged to the family of Nafisa Begum, who owned the building.
