NEW DELHI: A tragic incident occurred late Friday night in Rajasthan 's Jaisalmer district when a truck allegedly ran over a shepherd and his flock of sheep in the Sangad area.
The shepherd, identified as Hanif Khan , was killed instantly in the accident , along with more than 60 of his sheep.
Following the incident, the truck driver fled the scene with his vehicle, leaving behind the devastating aftermath.
Upon receiving information about the accident, a team from the Devikot police outpost promptly arrived at the location and transported the deceased shepherd's body to a mortuary for further examination.
The police have registered a case in connection with the incident and have initiated a search operation to apprehend the absconding truck driver, the police told news agency PTI.
