Train services on Central Railway disrupted due to waterlogging

Send Push
Train services on both the Main Line and Harbour Line of Central Railway were severely affected due to waterlogging at multiple locations on Tuesday evening.

On the Main Line, services on the slow track were suspended beyond Vidyavihar due to heavy waterlogging at Kanjurmarg, Nahur, and Bhandup, starting from 8:10 pm. Services on the Thane-bound line resumed with speed restrictions at 9:10 pm, while the CSMT-bound line reopened at 9:40 pm.

Similarly, Harbour Line services were suspended from 9:40 pm due to waterlogging between Mankhurd and Govandi. As a result, trains operated only between CSMT-Kurla and Vashi-Panvel.

Passengers were stranded for hours inside trains, and platforms became overcrowded due to the cancellation of services.

Meanwhile, Western Railway reported no disruption to its services despite the heavy rainfall.

There was also significant overcrowding at Ghatkopar Metro station (Line 1), as many commuters opted for the metro due to traffic congestion on the roads.
