NEW DELHI: Prime Minister Narendra Modi 's address in the Lok Sabha on Tuesday was marked by continuous sloganeering from opposition members, but it was a gesture by the PM during the session that has gone viral on social media.

As several opposition MPs stormed the Well, shouting and raising slogans against him, PM Modi surprised everyone by offering a glass of water to one of the sloganeering MPs.

The MP initially declined the offer, expressing gratitude to the Prime Minister. However, another opposition MP accepted the glass from PM Modi and drank the water. PM Modi returned to his seat and took a sip of water from his own glass.

BJP spokesperson Shehzad Poonawalla sarcastically commented on the incident, saying, "Modi the dictator offers water to opposition MPs who heckled his entire speech." Another user on X (formerly Twitter) praised the Prime Minister's actions, stating, "While PM Modi was addressing the House, opposition MPs were in the well, shouting to interrupt him. In response, PM Modi offered them water. KING BEHAVIOUR."

Undeterred by the opposition's persistent sloganeering, Prime Minister Modi launched a scathing attack on Congress and its leader, Rahul Gandhi . He accused the opposition party and its "ecosystem" of attempting to portray their third consecutive electoral defeat as a "moral victory," while labeling them as a "parasite." Modi also criticized Rahul Gandhi's behaviour, describing it as "baalak buddhi" (childish exuberance).

The prime minister strongly condemned Rahul Gandhi's remarks targeting "those who call themselves Hindus," asserting that the effort to associate Hindus with violence was a deliberate conspiracy. He emphasized that people would not forgive this action for centuries to come.
