NEW DELHI: The Indian Armed Forces conducted Operation Sindoor on Wednesday night, targeting nine locations across Pakistan-occupied Jammu and Kashmir (PoJK) and Pakistan. The operation aimed to destroy top leadership of terrorist organizations Jaish-e-Mohammed and Lashkar-e-Taiba, who were responsible for sponsoring terrorist activities in India, particularly the Pahalgam attacks.
Residents of Barmer, a border city in Rajasthan, expressed support for the military operation. Local resident Bhagirath Gosai shared his reaction to the news.
"When I woke up today and got this information, I was extremely happy. It was important to teach the terrorists a lesson for killing Hindus by asking their religion in Pahalgam," he said.
Another local resident, Shakoor Khan, voiced his approval of the Indian Army's actions.
"I am very happy that we have taken revenge. We stand with the Indian Army. We are ready to fight for India. I feel very proud," he said.
The Ministry of Defence confirmed the military action in an official statement, announcing that Indian forces struck terrorist infrastructure in Pakistan and PoJK, from where attacks against India were being planned and directed.
Defense Minister Rajnath Singh held discussions with the chiefs of the Indian Army, Air Force, and Navy to assess the situation. The Ministry of Defence has scheduled a press briefing for Wednesday at 10am to share further details about Operation Sindoor.
The operation was carried out in response to the Pahalgam terror attack, targeting terrorist infrastructure and leadership of Jaish-e-Mohammed (JeM) and Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT).
