Hannah Gutierrez-Reed gets released on parole after conviction for manslaughter in 'Rust' shooting: Report

‘Rust’ armourer Hannah Gutierrez-Reed, who was convicted in the fatal shooting of the cinematographer, has been released early on parole after complying with good behaviour for 14 months in jail. The 28-year-old was found guilty in March 2024 for the involuntary manslaughter of Halyna Hutchins on the sets of the film ‘Rust.’

The terms and conditions for Hannah Gutierrez-ReedFollowing the release from the New Mexico Correctional Facility, Hannah Gutierrez-Reed is going to be supervised by the authorities under the terms of probation, after she pleaded guilty to a different charge of illegally carrying a weapon on the licensed liquor establishment, according to The Hollywood Reporter.

Post release, Hannah is expected to serve her parole in her home state, Arizona. The conditions of the release are that one being she should not meet the victim’s family, the second is to find a job in a year, the third is to submit to the curfew, and the last one is that she cannot carry an illegal weapon. Additionally, the ‘Rust’ armourer has to comply with any and all monitoring by the police and keep in contact with the parole officers.

What happened during the shoot of the film 'Rust'?
While shooting the film, the actor Alec Baldwin was in the middle of the rehearsals. He pointed the gun at the cinematographer on a movie set outside Santa Fe, and the revolver went off, killing Halyna Hutchins and injuring the director, Joel Souza.

A couple of weeks before the filming began, Hannah Gutierrez-Reed carried a gun to a bar in Santa Fe, where firearms were prohibited.

As the proceedings began...
The prosecutors blamed Hannah for unwittingly bringing live ammunition on the sets of the film ‘Rust’ and for failing to follow basic gun safety protocols. Additionally, the jurors cleared her name of the allegations that she tampered with the evidence, while her appeal of the conviction is pending in the high court.

Meanwhile, Alec Baldwin has been stating to the media that he was not the one who pulled the trigger, claiming his innocence.
