Two people were killed and dozens were injured on Monday evening in Madison County in a tragic collision between a Greyhound bus and a passenger vehicle.
The crash occurred on a highway in western Tennessee as the Greyhound bus was en route from Memphis to Nashville. A Greyhound spokesperson told AP, 32 passengers were aboard the bus, along with the driver and a backup driver.
The passenger vehicle involved in the crash was carrying at least one of the deceased victims, informed Tennessee Highway Patrol.
Around 27 individuals were transported by ambulance for further medical care. Most of those injured have since been released from the hospital.
In the wake of the incident, the Tennessee Highway Patrol has reconstructed the crash scene and is rebuilding the mechanical systems of the bus as part of its investigation.
The agency says its investigation is ongoing and further details were limited as of Tuesday afternoon.
