Aston Martin introduces the DBX S as its new flagship SUV variant, featuring supercar-derived turbo tech, aggressive design, and improved performance dynamics.
Aston Martin DBX S: A New Benchmark for Luxury Performance SUVsAston Martin has officially launched the DBX S, the latest and most advanced version of its luxury performance SUV lineup. Following the discontinuation of the standard DBX variant due to low demand, the DBX S builds on the DBX707’s foundation with mechanical refinements, advanced technology, and an aggressive new design. The launch reaffirms Aston Martin’s commitment to delivering high-performance vehicles that merge luxury with driving thrill.
Powertrain: Valhalla Tech, 717 bhp, and Faster ShiftsAt the heart of the DBX S is a recalibrated twin-turbocharged 4.0-liter V8, now pushing 717 bhp, thanks to turbocharger advancements borrowed from the Aston Martin Valhalla supercar. The SUV maintains a 0–100 kmph sprint time of 3.1 seconds, while 0–200 kmph acceleration improves, showcasing the DBX S’s enhanced power delivery and responsiveness.
Aston Martin has also retuned the nine-speed automatic transmission, enabling quicker and sharper gear shifts in Sport and Sport+ driving modes. These upgrades combine to offer a more agile, connected, and engaging drive.
Design and Lightweight InnovationsVisually, the DBX S introduces a bolder and more athletic front fascia featuring a larger, more aggressive splitter and a new grille inspired by the DBS 770 Ultimate. At the rear, a revised diffuser and stacked vertical dual exhaust tips deliver a sportier stance and acoustic drama.
In a bid to reduce weight and improve performance:
-
Optional 23-inch magnesium wheels save 18.5 kg
-
A carbon-fiber roof the largest single carbon piece on any Aston Martin aids both weight reduction and structural rigidity
-
These lightweight components, while optional, help improve handling and front-rear weight distribution
Inside, the DBX S sees a notable upgrade in infotainment:
-
A new in-house infotainment system with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto
-
Over-the-air (OTA) updates and expanded connected services
-
A standard 14-speaker Aston Martin Premium Audio system
-
Optional 23-speaker Bowers & Wilkins surround sound system, custom-tuned for the DBX S
These additions align the DBX S with modern luxury SUV expectations while maintaining Aston Martin’s bespoke appeal.
Braking and Driving DynamicsTo match the uprated performance, the DBX S is equipped with carbon-ceramic brakes—16.5 inches at the front and 15.3 inches at the rear—delivering high-performance stopping power. Coupled with enhanced steering precision, the SUV feels more responsive and composed, whether cruising or cornering aggressively.
