Mid-range gaming phone to debut in China soon, expected to challenge Redmi Turbo 4 Pro and iQOO Z10 Turbo Pro

Beijing, May 1, 2025 — Oppo is reportedly gearing up to launch a new performance-focused smartphone, the Oppo K13 Turbo, in its home market of China. Following the recent India launch of the base Oppo K13, leaks now suggest the Turbo variant could be a game-changer in the mid-range gaming segment, with features like an active cooling fan, RGB lighting, and Snapdragon 8s Gen 4 chipset.

Oppo K13 Turbo: What We Know So Far 1. Active Cooling Fan and RGB Lights

Leaked renders indicate that the Oppo K13 Turbo will be equipped with a rear-mounted active cooling fan, an unusual and innovative addition for a mid-range smartphone. The fan is likely intended to prevent thermal throttling, ensuring sustained performance during gaming or resource-intensive tasks — a key selling point for mobile gamers.

RGB lighting, also seen on the rear panel, further reinforces the phone’s gaming-centric aesthetics, a design language typically associated with high-end devices.

2. Powered by Snapdragon 8s Gen 4

At its core, the K13 Turbo will run on the Snapdragon 8s Gen 4 SoC, Qualcomm’s latest 4nm octa-core chipset, paired with an Adreno 825 GPU. While it doesn’t match the top-tier Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 or 8 Elite series, the 8s Gen 4 offers an impressive balance between efficiency and gaming performance, making it ideal for a cost-effective, performance-driven smartphone.

Launch Timeline and Expected Pricing

While Oppo has not officially confirmed the K13 Turbo’s launch date, reports suggest it could debut within the next few weeks in China. The base Oppo K13, which features a Snapdragon 6 Gen 1 chipset, launched in India at ₹17,999. Analysts expect the Turbo variant to be priced slightly higher, likely in the ₹22,000–₹25,000 range.

Given the hardware upgrades, the K13 Turbo may compete directly with devices such as the Redmi Turbo 4 Pro and the iQOO Z10 Turbo Pro, which dominate the affordable gaming segment.

Display, Camera, and Battery Still Under Wraps

Oppo has yet to reveal details on:

  • Display specs (expected to feature a high refresh rate AMOLED)

  • Camera setup (dual or triple-lens configuration likely)

  • Battery capacity and charging speed (expected to include fast charging)

More details are expected to surface in the coming days as the official launch nears.

Will Oppo Launch the K13 Turbo Globally?

While the K13 Turbo is confirmed for China, Oppo may consider expanding the device globally, including to India and Southeast Asia, depending on the market response. If launched globally with aggressive pricing, the K13 Turbo could carve out a significant niche among mobile gaming enthusiasts.
