Kerala SSLC Result 2025 to Be Declared on May 9, Confirms Education Minister V Sivankutty

Over 4.27 lakh students await results; Class 8 re-exam results to be released on May 2

Thiruvananthapuram, April 30, 2025 The Kerala Secondary School Leaving Certificate (SSLC) Exam Results 2025 will be declared on May 9, announced State General Education Minister V Sivankutty on Tuesday. The minister confirmed that the evaluation process has been completed, and preparations are underway for the scheduled release.

A total of 4,27,021 candidates appeared for the SSLC examinations held between March 3 and 26, across 2,964 centers in Kerala, with additional centers in Lakshadweep (9) and the Gulf region (7).

Sector-wise Student Participation

• Government schools: 1,42,298 students

• Government-aided schools: 2,55,092 students

• Unaided schools: 29,631 students

• Lakshadweep centres: 447 students

• Gulf region centres: 682 students

Class 8 Re-exam Results on May 2

Minister Sivankutty also announced that results of the Class 8 re-examinations will be declared on May 2, 2025. This year, Kerala reintroduced subject-wise minimum pass marks for Class 8, replacing the former “all-pass” policy as part of a broader initiative to enhance educational quality.

Out of around 4 lakh students, 86,309 scored an E grade (below 30%) in at least one subject. Remedial classes were conducted from April 8 to 24, and re-examinations took place from April 25 to 30.

The Education Department has also announced its intention to track the academic progress of these students in the next academic term, with the goal of improving future performance and intervention strategies.
