Batsmen's cleverness will not work in the Ranji Trophy, if you do this then you will be out, BCCI changed the rules

Send Push

The new domestic cricket season is about to begin in India. The first round of the Ranji Trophy will begin on Friday, October 11. On the first day, 19 matches will be played on different grounds, in which 38 teams will participate. A day before the start of these matches, BCCI changed some rules of domestic cricket including the Ranji Trophy. A day before the start of the season, i.e. on Thursday evening, October 10, all the teams have been informed about these changes. This includes rules from batting and bowling to point distribution. Let us know what major changes the board has made.

Batting tricks will not work

This time BCCI has made the biggest change in the batting rules. From now on, the smartness of the batsmen will not work in domestic cricket. Earlier, many batsmen, even if they were not injured, used to retire from their innings in the middle to give themselves rest and come out of the field after getting refreshed and come back to bat. But now this can cost them dearly. In the new season, if they do this, it will be considered out with immediate effect.

The batsman who retires and leaves the field will not be able to bat again. The batsman will be considered out even if the captain of the opposing team has no objection to it. These rules will be applicable not only in the Ranji Trophy but also in all multi-day and limited over domestic matches. The most interesting thing is that BCCI has said that from now on, super over can also be implemented in domestic matches.

This rule changed in bowling

BCCI has also made some changes in the bowling rules and has been strict about saliva. The board has said that if any team uses saliva on the ball, it will be changed immediately. Apart from this, a penalty will also be imposed on that team with immediate effect.

BCCI has also made changes in the rule of stopping runs. According to the new rule, if the batsman stops after running one run and a boundary is already made before crossing each other again after the overthrow, then only the boundary i.e. 4 runs will be added to the score. The board says that this rule has been changed as per the agreement reached during the ICC T20 World Cup 2024. Let us tell you that earlier both the runs scored by the batsmen and the runs of overthrow were added to the score.

What changes have been made in the point distribution?

The Board of Control for Cricket in India has made some changes regarding the CK Nayudu competition and point distribution. The board has explained the point distribution rules by considering two situations. In the first situation, suppose team A is batting first and gets all out for 398 runs in 98 overs in the first innings, then it will get 4 batting points. On the other hand, if it gets 5 penalty runs while fielding, then its score will now become 403 in 98 overs and it will get 5 batting points.

The second situation is that if team A, batting first, gets all out for 398 runs in 100.1 overs in the first innings, then it will be given 4 batting points. On the other hand, if it gets 5 penalty runs while fielding, then its score will become 403 runs in 100.1 overs but it will not get the 5th batting point.
