One-Day Conclave on Buddha's Middle Path to Address Global Leadership and Universal Values

New Delhi:  The Ministry of Minority Affairs, Government of India, in collaboration with the International Buddhist Confederation, will host a one-day conclave titled "Buddha's Madhyama Marg/The Middle Path to Guide Global Leadership" on Saturday, September 14, at the Nehru Science Centre, Worli. Union Minister of Minority Affairs Kiren Rijiju will be the chief guest for the event.

The conclave aims to explore and promote the dissemination and internalisation of universal values rooted in Buddha's teachings. It will address contemporary challenges and propose sustainable models for the future, drawing from the principles of the Madhyama Marg (Middle Path) and the Eightfold Path. The conference will also pay tribute to Babasaheb Bhimrao Ambedkar for his significant contributions to modern Buddhism.

The event will feature three main sessions:

"Role and Relevance of Buddha Dhamma in Modern Times" "Significance of Mindful Techniques" "New Age Leadership and Implementation of Buddha Dhamma" These sessions will focus on practical solutions to achieve universal brotherhood, sustainability, and personal well-being, guided by Buddha’s teachings and Dhamma principles.

Historically, the teachings of Buddha have had a profound impact, beginning in India and spreading across Asia. King Ashoka's rock edicts serve as a testament to the enduring legacy of Dhamma governance and its transformative power in society, fostering peace, prosperity, and harmony.

In today's context, despite advancements in science and technology, there is a growing need to master Dhamma principles to address global violence and conflicts. The teachings of Buddha Dhamma offer a pathway to resolving underlying causes of violence and fostering interfaith dialogue, harmony, and universal peace.

The conclave underscores the urgent need for humanity to embrace Dhamma to achieve peace and harmony both at the personal level and globally. As the world grapples with ongoing challenges, including pandemics and social unrest, the principles of Buddha Dhamma remain relevant in guiding individuals and societies toward a more peaceful existence.
