Kolkata: In the ongoing investigation of the rape and murder of a female doctor in Kolkata, polygraph tests have been conducted on seven individuals, including the primary suspect, Sanjay Roy. According to reports, Roy has confessed to the crime during the polygraph examination.

Detailed information from Aaj Tak's exclusive report outlines Roy’s account of events. On August 8-9, Roy, along with his friend Saurabh, visited RG Kar Hospital where Saurabh’s brother was hospitalized. Following their hospital visit, they planned to drink alcohol and initially went to Sonagachi, a red-light area in Kolkata. When their plans did not materialize there, they proceeded to Chetla, another red-light district located 15 kilometers away.

En route to Chetla, the two men harassed a girl, an incident captured on CCTV. At Chetla, Saurabh paid for sex while Roy contacted his girlfriend for nude photos. Later, Roy returned to the hospital with Saurabh. After Saurabh left for home, Roy went to the trauma center's fourth floor, entering the operation theatre around 3:30-3:40 am.

At approximately 4:03 am, Roy approached the corridor near the seminar hall where the victim was asleep. He then attacked her by strangling her, subsequently raping and killing her before fleeing the scene. Roy accidentally left his Bluetooth device behind. He subsequently went to the residence of Anupam Dutta, a member of the Kolkata Police, and stayed there.

The investigation continues into the roles of other suspects involved in the case. The victim's body was discovered on August 9 in the seminar hall, and Sanjay Roy was arrested following the recovery.
